Key purpose / Context

We are looking for a new team member with a technical background to help us change the education landscape of Côte d'Ivoire! The role of the technical manager is to develop the study program modules and additional events together with our partners and also to manage and maintain the school’s equipment and infrastructure (both hardware and software) and lead the tutors team. 

Role & responsibilities

  • Have technical authority over the platform and internal tech initiatives
  • Understand the 01 Education System curriculum and content, make decisions regarding pedagogical tech content and know the platform inside and out
  • Install school’s informatics infrastructure and network which contains all the server infrastructure (rooter, server, switches, WiFi, Camera. Ethernet cables, speakers..), the computer network (500 units), the conference room equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair all the school’s informatics infrastructure and network.
  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Perform audits of student work during test period
  • Communicate with students during sprint (piscines) and study period and answer their questions
  • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.
  • Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.
  • Be able to identify platform bugs and communicate with the 01 tech team
  • Coordinating computer network access and use.
  • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software. 
  • Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
  • Gather and process tickets and issues from coworkers and students.
  • Support with organizing tech events and collaborations
  • Query the database to perform analytics and extract insights
  • Have credibility with corporate partners (ex. understand technical inputs for a hackathon)

Our ideal candidate

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers.
  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Network security experience.
  • LAN and WAN experience.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Great communication and team management skills
