About Shamba Pride:

Shamba Pride is a high growth venture capital-backed enterprise that provides a one-stop online-to-offline platform that connects smallholder farmers to agri-business information, quality inputs and credible agriculture services in their local communities to ensure sustainable increased farm production and increased family income. The company provides tech integration and fulfilment for hundreds of retail shops across Kenya and is currently looking to expand into new markets. We are looking for a great team player to join our team and support our expansion to Tanzania and Zambia.

About The Role:

As Country Manager, you will be part of the leadership team and be responsible for the strategy and growth of the company in the country. You will serve as a brand ambassador and country representative, building a scalable team, ensuring continued business growth, and cultivating partnerships. In this role, you will help entrench our product-market fit, traction, and help scale the business and team in the country.


  • Manage all operations within the country and have ownership over the company's development in the country
  • Set and achieve performance objectives
  • Oversee the company's daily business operations and executives to ensure proper implementation of operational and financial procedures
  • Adapt policies and procedures to the country
  • Develop strategic partnerships in the country with suppliers, banks, and other service providers
  • Own and monitor the finances (top and bottom line) and manage cash flow cautiously, tracking revenue targets among others
  • Produce a detailed annual business operating plan as well as deliver monthly, quarterly or annual targets and performance reports for revenue, profits, and cash.
  • Lead in recruiting and managing country staff, including performance monitoring, mentoring, and training
  • Be an "evangelist" for the company at conferences, events, etc. and establish strategic partnerships in the country

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Agriculture sector knowledge, preferably corporate senior-level management experience in the target country
  • Good knowledge base of the country
  • 5 to 10 years of senior-level management experience
  • Bachelor or Master degree with outstanding academic results, preferably in the field of business, agribusiness, or agriculture
  • Fluent in English/Kiswahili with excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Hands-on experience in product building, running marketing campaigns, doing sales, doing financial calculations, talking to potential investors
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Inspiring leader who knows how to sell and convince others of your ideas
  • Data and customer-driven, implementing this in daily work to attain higher performance
  • Proven track record demonstrating understanding and business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership, and both written and verbal communication skills
