Shamba Pride is a high-growth venture capital-backed enterprise that provides a one-stop online-to-offline platform that connects smallholder farmers to agri-business information, quality inputs, and credible agriculture services in their local communities. The goal is to ensure sustainable increased farm production and increased family income.

The company currently provides tech integration and fulfillment for hundreds of retail shops across Kenya and is looking to expand into new markets. We are seeking a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our team and support our rapid growth.

About the Role:

As CFO, you will be part of the leadership team and be responsible for the strategy and growth of the company. You will support management decisions by creating management tools and providing guidance to the leadership team. You will be instrumental in supporting new product development and partnerships for financial products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other members of the management team to execute the financial strategy of the company
  • Advising long term business planning and financial planning.
  • Develop financial models, management accounting processes and stakeholder reporting
  • Support managing investor relationships and fundraising
  • Managing accounting procedures and provide leadership and management for a growing finance and accounting team.
  • Develop franchise and network monitoring templates and systems integrations.

Key Skills:

  • Financial aptitude - solid accounting experience, business acumen and an excellent grasp of business analytics.
  • Strategic thinking - bring a strong combination of business and operational knowledge to the table.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, master degree or MBA.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a senior management position.
  • Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting.
  • Experience with corporate governance.
  • Experience with budget management, public accounting, and cash flow.
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
