Seedstars is a global organization with headquarter in Switzerland and a presence in 70+ emerging markets. We are on a mission to impact people’s lives in emerging markets through technology and entrepreneurship. Our initiatives are focused on connecting stakeholders within these ecosystems, building tech companies from scratch and investing in the top entrepreneurs.

Seedstars Investments, the investment arm of Seedstars, funds high impact technology entrepreneurs in emerging markets. We leverage our on the ground presence and network that covers 80 markets to discover the best early stage ventures and provide value from idea to the later stage. We also take companies to the next level through our acceleration program and work closely with the entrepreneurs to give them access to the Seedstars global infrastructure and know-how (network, funding, technology team, etc).

About the job

Every year, we run a virtual acceleration program for emerging market startups with ‘product-market-fit’ that are entering the growth / scaling phase of their startup’s journey. We coach them on building a growth team and implementing growth methodologies to set themselves up for rapid scaling.  

We are looking for a Growth Coach / Mentor to join our team to support our ventures and help run the operations of the program effectively. This is a part-time (60%) fixed term (January - April 2019)  role which can be done either from our global office in Porto, or remote.

Key responsibilities

  • Weekly mentoring via Skype/Zoom/Hangout with 5-10 ventures. You will support the ventures on implementing and adopting our growth methodologies, growth tools and overall growth best practises. You will coach and help them achieve desired results from their growth experiments.
  • Ensure smooth operations of the program by supporting in planning and execution (content preparation, logistics, documentation etc.)
  • Track startup data and provide insight on the ventures to our internal investment committee as a basis for investment decisions.

Your profile

  • 3+ years practical experience of working in a Growth team, ideally in a startup environment.
  • Deep understanding of methodologies (testing / experimentation design, conversion rate / funnel optimization, metric tracking etc.) as well as up to date knowledge of the latest growth tools (Analytics, funnel conversion, SEM/CEO/Email/Social marketing, surveying etc.)
  • Highly personable and empathetic - can work with startup founders
  • Teaching and training experience is a plus
  • Passion for startups and technology, particularly in emerging markets
  • Strong belief in getting things done - We are nomads traveling around the world so it is important to have drive, ownership and execution. Working in remote with an international team, you have to be comfortable working alone and capable to prioritize and make things happen
